CPM to support SCS for AP, back Mallannasagar oustees
The CPI (M) politburo resolved to extend the party’s support to the agitation demanding Special Category Status (SCS) to AP and to the people of villages threatened with displacement due to Mallannasagar project in Telangana.
New Delhi: The CPI (M) politburo resolved to extend the party’s support to the agitation demanding Special Category Status (SCS) to AP and to the people of villages threatened with displacement due to Mallannasagar project in Telangana.
Speaking to the media after the party politburo meeting, B V Raghavulu said the justified demand of AP for Special Category Status must be met.
He said that the true colours of the TDP and BJP have been revealed in the denial of the Special Status to the State and termed it a huge blow to the aspirations of the people.
On Mallannasagar, he said the repression unleashed by the TRS government against the agitators was unbelievable and not expected of a party which came to power through people's struggles.
He accused the TRS leadership of using unparliamentary language against those who were leading the agitations including the CPM leaders.
