Hyderabad: Undeterred by the recent arrests of the party leaders, the TPCC has once again decided to reach out to farmers at Mallannasagar in the form of a rally to Mallannasagar on August 7, which coincides with the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Gajwel.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the office-bearers organised at Gandhi Bhavan, which was presided over by TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy and attended by working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir, TPCC treasurer G Narayana Reddy and other functionaries.

The meeting also decided to take up the farmers issues more fiercely in the coming days, as part of the strengthening the party’s outreach amongst the farming community. The leaders will be visiting various projects in Mahbubnagar and Khammam district getting first hand information on the government’s redesign. Besides this, the meeting also decided to finalise the party’s mandal committees by August 9.

It may be recalled that the police thwarted the attempt of leaders on their earlier ‘Chalo Mallannasagar’ plan of June 26. While the top leaders were arrested at Gandhi Bhavan, some others were arrested at Gajwel and Karimnagar, who were later released. Later the TPCC working president demanded the DGP Anurag Sharma to provide protection and safe passage to the Congress leaders in their next attempt.
