Hyderabad: The AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh would be taking part in the ‘Rythugarjana’, a public meeting planned to be held in Adilabad on August 16. After returning to the City, he would also be present in the power point presentation by TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy on ‘Irrigation Projects’ to be organised in Gandhi Bhavan on August 17.

At a meeting chaired by former Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy with the district Congress leaders of Adilabad chalked out the programme schedule in a meeting held in Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday.

All the top district leaders including Adilabad District Congress Committee President A Maheshwar Reddy were present. The meeting discussed about arrangements and the ways to convince the farmers for attending the protest programme. They also discussed about preparations for State’s coordination meeting planned to be held in the district during the morning hours on the same day.

Earlier in the day, Uttam Kumar Reddy took part in the diamond jubilee celebrations of Quit India Movement and alleged that the TRS was trying to suppress the party by adopting corrupt and dictatorial attitude. He said that there was a need to strengthen the party in 8000 villages across the Telangana state to ensure end of TRS rule in the state.

He called upon the Congress activists to strive hard so that TRS is defeated in the next elections. Quality of Pushkar Ghats questioned Alleging that the ongoing works of ghats for Krishna Pushkaralu were of poor quality, former Minister DK Aruna said that the government was completing the works in haste and without a proper plan.

Speaking to the media along with MLA Sampath Kumar and others at Gandhi Bhavan, DK Aruna alleged that toilets constructed for the Pushkaralu would not serve their purpose, as they were being washed away, due to heavy inflows. Several ghats were submerged in river water and at many places the works are yet to be completed, she said.

Reminding the works taken up by the then Congress government 2004, she said that those ghats were still in good condition. “The TRS leaders were more focused in filling their pockets with crores of rupees allocated for pushkar works, rather ensuring good services to devotees” she alleged.
