Hyderabad: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing Nayeemuddin case has set up an exclusive number ‘9440627218’ and has asked victims to approach police in uncovering the illegal activities of the gang.

After gangster Mohammed Nayeemuddin was gunned down in an exchange of fire with police at Sri Laxminarasimha Nilayam in Millennium Township area of Shadnagar on August 8, the teams of Telangana police conducted extensive searches throughout the State, including at the house of Nayeem, his associates and also at his “dens” and seized arms and ammunition, explosives, gold ornaments, cash, vehicles, cell phones and large number of documents related to land and money transactions.

The Director General of Police had formed a SIT headed by IG Y Nagi Reddy on Wednesday to assist and probe the case. Speaking to mediapersons on Thursday, Nagi Reddy said, “During the searches conducted till Thursday, a total of 12 guns, 2.14 kg gold ornaments, Rs 2.61 crore in cash, 599 land documents have been seized, 18 persons arrested across the State, and 12 cases have been booked under various sections, including the Arms Act.”

The SIT has also reportedly prepared a list of 69 names that include businessmen, top officials in police department and some political leaders, who were in touch with Nayeem and also reportedly made some financial transactions with him. However, the police did not share the names with mediapersons because of investigative reasons.
