Nalgonda: The Wadapally ghats Special Officer and Additional Joint Collector Venkat Rao informed that the administration has decided to conduct Meenakshi Agasthyeswara Swamy Kalyanam on the conclusion day of ongoing Krishna Pushkaralu, apart from giving Harathi to River Krishna at the Shivalayam Ghat during the river fest.

On Wednesday, the AJC conducted a meeting with temple authorities, priests and officials of endowments, Transco etc. Speaking to media, AJC informed that India Cements had agreed to sponsor Harathi at the Shivalayam Ghat.

Ghat in-charge Venugopal, Deputy Engineer, Transco Satyanarayana, Endowments Deputy Commissioner Amarendra, Temple Chairman K Siddayya, Manager Mruthyunjaya Sarma, India Cements Manager Sudheer Reddy and others attended the meeting.

3 lakh devotees take holy dip. More than three lakh devotees took holy dip on the sixth day of Krishna Pushkaralu in the district.

According to reports, as many as 3,07,339 devotees bathed on Wednesday at the 28 ghats of the district.

Due to heavy rush at the three main pushkar ghats, at Wadapally, Mattapally and Nagarjuna Sagar, the pilgrims ended up waiting to get their turn.

As many as 1.25 lakh people thronged to Shivalayam ghat at Nagarjuna Sagar to have holy dip in River Krishna. The people waited in queue at Shivalayam ghat to have darshan after taking holy dip.

Malkajgiri MP Malla Reddy along with his family and 1,000 students from his group of colleges took holy dip at Shivalyam Ghat in Nagarjuna Sagar.

The ghat at confluence of River Krishna and Musi at Wadapally also witnessed heavy rush of pilgrims. As many as 1.5 lakh devotees took holy dip in 11 pushkar ghats in Damacherla mandal including Wadapally.
