Vijayawada: SIT sleuths have traced Nayeem links to Andhra Pradesh. Telangana police conducted search operations across AP to trace the links of Mohammad Nayeemuddin alias Nayeem.

The Special Investing Team (SIT) sleuths have been making frequent visits to the state probing the links of the former Naxal-turned gangster who was killed in an encounter recently.

The police have initially conducted a thorough search in Ongole, Guntur, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam during the last two weeks with the help of the local police.

The police have found a flat owned by one of his personal contacts on the Mangamuru Road in Ongole and some property in Guntur district.

The sleuths have also visited the Vijayawada city and have reportedly picked up a retired senior police officer who is alleged to have enjoyed a good relationship with the slain gangster.

The retired police officer was asked to be available to the SIT for questioning whenever they needed him. The police have also found the involvement of Nayeem’s supporters in a land dispute at Visakhapatnam.

A case was already filed in the Bheemunipatnam police station for allegedly grabbing a five-acre land belonged to a person hailing from the neighbouring Vizianagaram district.

The police have also identified a person, Dantuluri Suryanarayana Varma of Visakhapatnam, who had threatened the land owner and grabbing five-acre land located at Kapuluppada village of Bheemili mandal.
