Warangal Urban: There has been a growing interest among youth to join police department, noted Police Commissioner G Sudheer Babu. The youth should strive hard to reach their goal and make sincere efforts in serving the society by drawing inspiration from police martyrs, who laid down their life in the line of duty, he said. The Commissioner has on Sunday flagged off ‘5K Run’ at the Commissionerate’ office marking the ‘Police Martyrs Commemoration Week’. He later presented prizes to the winners of the 5K Run.

The public should remember and honour their sacrifices made to ensure law and order in the society.The department was making efforts to reach out to the people and ensure people friendly policing, he added. On this occasion, the Police Commissioner interacted with the families of police martyrs and assured them all possible help from the department.
For men five kilometres run and for women 2.5 kilometres were organised on the day.In men category, G Vijay Kumar, B Tirupathi and K Raju were given away prizes for standing at first, second and third places respectively in the run. In Women category, A Swapna, M Kalyani and EN Mounika won first, second and third prizes respectively.West, east and central zones Deputy Commissioners of PoliceT Venkanna, Md Ismail and MS Venugopal Rao, ACPs SM Surendranath, K Eswar Rao, B Janardhan, S Mahender, Ramesh Kumar, Police Officers Association president Ashok Kumar and others were present.
