Although the hospital is full with patients, especially with those suffering from dengue and typhoid, the authorities has no concern. Neither there was adequate number of doctors nor the supporting mechanism to rescue the patients,” Bhatti said. Moreover, the patients were forced to lie on the floor due to shortage of beds, he said, stating that it was a hell-like situation for the old aged, women and children.
Though there are reports of 740 positive cases of dengue and 10,700 typhoid cases, both Health Minister and the district minister failed to take stock of the medical and health situation in the region. At a time when the people in the State are grappling with many issues, whether the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao needs a luxurious residence, he wondered, stating that government needs to be rational when it deals with the finances.
He said that there are so many issues such as medical, health care, housing and fee reimbursement that need urgent focus of the government.
Accusing the government of trying to keep dengue deaths under wraps, Bhatti demanded the government to declare ‘health emergency’ and release of funds meant for the development of gram panchayats to ensure hygienic conditions in villages. He also accused the government of diverting the Central funds and working for the benefit of contractors.
