Hyderabad: Under the influence of the upper air cyclonic circulation over the northern parts of Sumatra and its adjoining south Andaman Sea, a low pressure area has formed over the sea and Sumatra, extending up to mid-¬tropospheric levels. It is likely to concentrate into a depression during the next 24 hours and into a deep depression during the subsequent 24 hours, the Met department bulletin warned on Sunday.

During the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Sunday, rain occurred at a few places in Rayalaseema and at isolated places in coastal Andhra, with Kodur in Kadapa district recording nine cm of rainfall.
There was three cm of rain each in Penagaluru, Pullampeta (both in Kadapa), Thottambedu, Tirupati Airport( Chittoor) , Rajampet (Kadapa) , Venkatagiri (Nellore). there was two cm rain each in Kavali (Nellore), Kandukur (Prakasam), Rapur (Nellore), Srikalahasti ( Chittoor), Tirumala airport.
The bulletin said there was an appreciable fall in the night temperatures at one or two places in coastal Andhra Pradesh and no major change in Rayalaseema.
They were appreciably above normal at one or two places in coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema. The lowest minimum temperature of 19 degrees Celsius was recorded in Nandigama and Jangamaheswarapuram.
