Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will present a progress report on the achievements of the government during the last three years and how the State has been put on fast track with regard to development. He will also highlight three important schemes which will help in reviving the rural economy and empower women socially and financially.
The State government is planning to distribute of 84 lakh sheep to Yadav and Kurmi communities. This year, the government proposes to distribute 42 lakh sheep as part of the scheme. As part of another important scheme - Amma Vadi - KCR Kits will be distributed for newborn babies and a financial assistance of Rs 12,000 each to mothers.
The aim is to promote institutional deliveries and achieve zero maternal and neonatal mortality in the State. This scheme will be launched on Friday evening at Petlaburj Hospital.
The third one is the single women pension scheme. The government has earmarked Rs 3,000 crore budget for this scheme. While about 1.18 lakh applications have already been received, the government has shortlisted about 1.8 lakh applications. Each single woman will get a pension of Rs 1,000 per month.
The Chief Minister is also likely to declare Telangana as ‘no gudumba’ State. Officials said Chandrashekar Rao will also explain the steps taken to strengthen agriculture sector by waiving off loans availed by distressed farmers and the new initiatives launched to make farming a profitable profession. He will illustrate the government’s plan of action to implement successfully the recently announced Rs 4,000 incentives per acre for each farmer per crop.
As the government has already speeded up the official process for the recruitment of posts in all departments, the Chief Minister is likely to make some announcements with regard to employment generation as well during his speech at the Formation Day celebrations.
He may also announce regularisation of services of home guards. Sources said Chandrashekar Rao would list out the achievements including successful implementation of Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya, construction of irrigation projects and the progress in the double bedroom housing scheme.
He will delve at length on the schemes like single women pensions meant for their social and economic empowerment.
As part of the grand fete, celebrations on a large scale have been planned across the State. Special programmes are being organised at mandal, divisions and district-level. The government has sanctioned Rs 10 lakh for each district for the purpose.
The Chief Minister has directed the officials to commence the celebrations after paying homage to those who sacrificed their lives for separate statehood. All important junctions in Hyderabad and in district headquarters have been decorated to reflect the celebratory mood of the State formation.
Several cultural and literary programmes highlighting Telangana’s traditions and food festivals with Telangana cuisines have also been lined up. The celebrations on Friday will kick-start after the Chief Minister pays floral tributes to the Telangana martyrs at the Gun Park in front of the State Assembly and hoist the national flag at the Police Parade Grounds.
A rally has also been scheduled with folk artistes highlighting the cultural heritage of Telangana. Later in the evening, a mega cultural event will be held at Sardar Patel Stadium which will feature the Perini dance, an old art form of the Kakatiya era.
Chandrashekar Rao will distribute awards to 52 members in recognition of their contributions to various fields of life and disburse pension for single women. The celebrations will also feature Prime Minister Narendra Modi's intiative of ‘Ek Bharat-Shresth Bharat’ which was launched last year in order to bridge the cultural gap in the country and increase the interaction between people living in different States.
