As part of dissemination of tourist information to the visiting tourists to Telangana and other States in the country, the Union Ministry of Tourism and Tourism Department of Telangana have taken major initiatives to facilitate visits of foreign tourists visiting India. 

Hyderabad: As part of dissemination of tourist information to the visiting tourists to Telangana and other States in the country, the Union Ministry of Tourism and Tourism Department of Telangana have taken major initiatives to facilitate visits of foreign tourists visiting India.

This relates to availability of tourist information and assistance while travelling in the country through the introduction of 24x7 international toll free multi-lingual tourist help line.

This service is available on toll-free number 1800111363 or on a short code 1363 and operational 24x7 (365 days in a year) offering a ‘multi-lingual helpdesk’. The languages handled by the tourist helpline include ten international languages namely, Arabic, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.

The objective of this multi-lingual helpline is to provide information relating to travel and tourism in India to the domestic and international tourists. The helpline also advises callers during the times of distress, if any, while travelling in India and alerts the concerned authorities, if required.

This is a unique endeavor by Union Ministry of Tourism, which gives the foreign tourists a sense of safety and security during their travel in India, according to an official release issued here on Wednesday. This toll free 24x7 multi-lingual tourist helpline had been declared as winner of the Outlook Traveler Award 2017 for the ‘Best New Tourism Initiative’, said the release.

The Telangana Tourism has also introduced 24x7 toll-free number 040- 65696939, 1800-425- 46464 (timings between 7:30 and 8:30 pm).

Information is also available on website www. telanganatourism. gov.in and on Facebook, blogs, e-magazines, YouTube, Twitter etc., and other social media initiatives.

As the safety and security of visiting tourists is the top priority,the Tourism Department has deployed police at prominent tourist destinations of Hyderabad who will also be acting as guides and will closely monitor the safety and security of visiting tourists, according to the release.
