A 12-year-old boy from Hyderabad has taken up the task of covering potholed roads. The boy, Ravi Teja from Habsiguda recently witnessed an accident where a family of three succumbed to head injuries while trying to avoid a pothole on a road.

Instead of depending on civc authorities or complaining about the bad conditions of the roads, Ravi Teja covered up the potholes himself with the help of broken bricks, gravel and stones from nearby areas, working for hours relentless to repair the potholes.

Speaking to Hindustan Times, Ravi Teja said, “After watching the accident on the Habsiguda road, I thought I should do something from my side to see that such accidents do not recur. I have been doing it for the last one week, whenever I get the time.”

When asked the reason or inspiration for his act, the boy merely stated that no one had asked him to do it and he plans on continuing the cause.

Surprisingly, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had given the civic officials a deadline to fill up all the potholes in Telangana by the end of May. However, nothing has been done in this regard so far.
