Patancheru (Sangareddy): IT and MA&UD Minister K T Rama Rao, during the foundation stone laying ceremony of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Green Industrial Park - Women Entrepreneurs’ Hub in Nandigama village in Patancheru mandal on Friday, said the State government was committed to encouraging aspiring entrepreneurs through Telangana’s industrial policy which according to him, is the best in India. Speaking at the event organised by Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of India (ALEI), the Minister said the State government was doing its best in creating employment for women like nowhere else in the country. He said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was working 18 hours a day to create ‘Bangaru Telangana’.

“Through Mission Bhagiratha we are aiming to supply drinking water to every doorstep and already through Mission Kakatiya 46,000 minor irrigation tanks have been restored. Efforts to plant 240 crore saplings are on through Telangana ku Haritha Haram,” he said. To encourage women entrepreneurs, he said, the government had introduced T-India initiative giving an additional 10 per cent subsidy for women entrepreneurs.

He added that the government was giving subsidies for women in the Industrial Park being setup in Toopran and Medical Devices Park in Sultanpur. He also talked about the development of textile industry in Telangana and felt that the state was cultivating quality cotton and that the demand for textiles was increasing by the day, which gave scope for increasing production in the State. He disclosed that Kakatiya Textiles Park in Warangal and Apparel Park in Siricilla were going to be setup soon.

Adding that the government was doing everything in its power to get closer to the people, he assured ALEI that the government would extend all support to the organisation for creation of jobs for women and encourage women entrepreneurs. “Only if women are self-reliant and independent, this country will prosper,” he said.
