Hyderabad: Telangana JAC Chairman Prof M Kodandaram on Sunday asked the Singareni workers to defeat the TRS affiliated workers Union - Telangana Boggu Gani Karmika Sangam (TBGKS) in the elections.

Addressing a press conference at the JAC office here on Sunday, Kodandaram said the JAC was not against the jobs to dependents of the Singareni employees.

He said that the dependents employment is the main agenda of the Singareni elections. The government was not positive on the dependent employment and was trying to confuse the workers, he said.

The government is trying to privatise Singareni. The workers should not get tempted by the freebies of the ruling party. They should vote against them to ensure their defeat, Kodandaram said.

The JAC chief found fault with the government’s version of court decision coming in the way of implementing the dependent employment.

He said that the courts were not against dependent employment. “One thing is clear with the Court decision. If someone dies under mysterious circumstances, it is government's responsibility to provide employment to the immediate dependent of the employee.

Similarly, if someone cannot work because of ill health and if someone loses livelihood because of projects, the dependent employment should be given,” said Kodandaram. To save Singareni, the workers should defeat the ruling party affiliated union, he said.

Stating that the GO 39 was un-democratic and un-constitutional, Kodandaram demanded the government to withdraw the GO. He called up on the people to take part in the protest Satyagraha on October 3 in all the districts.
