Hyderabad: Chief Secretary SP Singh ordered the authorities to speedup developmental works in the smart cities of Warangal and Karimnagar at an official meeting held on Thursday at the Secretariat.

Municipal Administration and Urban Development Secretary Navin Mittal, Karimnagar District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmad, Warangal Municipal Commissioner Shruthi Ojha, Karimnagar Municipal Commissioner K Shashanka and several other administrators participated in the discussion to scrutinise the ongoing developmental activities in the areas.

Addressing the cities as one of the fastest growing centres of the State, Singh directed the officials to provide facilities on par with people’s expectations and without any compromise inits quality. He asked the officials to prepare a detailed project report and commence the activities at the earliest.

The Chief Secretary quoted that with a budget allocation of 4,739 crore to this illustrious project, the government aims to develop infrastructures of transportation, water supply, sewerage systems, etc along with embellishing areas in and around the tourist spots of Warangal and Karimnagar.

He said that government offices in Warangal will soon be driven by solar power and that the Manair River near Karimnagar will also be developed to meet the requirements of the city.
