Hyderabad: Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Hyderabad (JNTU-H) Registrar Prof N Yadaiah recalled the services of retired teaching and non-teachings staff and the laurels brought by the former students to the university. He addressed the Global Alumni Meet as a chief guest, which was jointly organised by the JNTU-H College of Engineering and JNTUHCHE Alumni Association as part of Golden Jubilee Celebrations at the JN Auditorium here on Saturday.
He said the university had got worldwide repute due to its students fanned across the globe making a mark with their achievements in different fields and industry. A former student of 1965 Golden Jubilee batch, Dr A K Asthana, who attended the event as the guest of honour, narrated the journey of the university. He also worked as the professor in the civil engineering department and former principal of the college from 2006 to 2008. Chandra Prakash Koyyada, president of JNTUH CEH Alumni Association addressed the gathering about the activities of Alumni.
Prof A Govardhan, who presided over the meet shared the achievements of the institute over a span of five decades and acknowledged the services rendered by the retired teaching and nonteaching staff of the college. And also shared the plans for Golden Jubilee celebrations scheduled to be held in July 2018.
The Alumni Association presented cash prizes to the meritorious students of current batches for their excellence in academic, co-curricular and extracurricular activities. Retired principals, retired teaching and nonteaching staff of JNTUH College of Engineering-Hyderabad were felicitated on the occasion. The JNTUH CEH Newsletter was also released during the occasion. The programme started with a traditional dance by Akshara, a final year B Tech student welcoming the guests and faculty.
