Hyderabad: TRS MLAs on Sunday demanded that A Revanth Reddy, who joined the Congress recently, personally hand over his resignation letter to the Assembly Speaker.

Addressing a press conference here, along with party MLA A Venkateshwar Reddy, G Balaraju criticised the Congress leader’s personal attack on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and other Ministers. He said, “The manner in which Revanth Reddy is talking is not proper. People will not tolerate such language. It is getting bad name for the Congress party. The party should take action against Revanth Reddy like they did against Mani Shankar Aiyar for his personal attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”

Balaraju lashed out at Revanth Reddy by saying that he was caught red-handed in the cash for vote case. “We did not target him individually. Did we raise his association with Tara Chaudhry? He has earned money in the form of brokerage. He is misleading his own party leaders,” said Balaraju. The TRS leaders said that categorization of Scheduled Castes was in the Centre’s hand.

He said that the TRS had supported the categorization of Scheduled Castes and the government had promised to lead an all-party delegation to the Prime Minister to make an appeal to the latter. Revanth was soft towards the BJP as he wanted to have a cushion to join that party in case the Congress party sent him out, alleged Balaraju.

Balaraju said that he accepts the challenge of Revanth Reddy for resignation and asked the former TDP leader to hand over his resignation to the Assembly Speaker.
