Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) founder Manda Krishna Madiga on Wednesday was released from the Chanchalguda central prison in Hyderabad after 10 days of his arrest.
Lashing out strongly against the state government, he announced a hunger strike protest from January 1 to 5 to exert pressure on the state government to take up the Scheduled Castes categorisation issue with the Centre.
He alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is trying to suppress the basic rights of people by arresting the ones who are trying to hold protests against the undemocratic policies of the state government.
Mentioning that the TRS activists resorted to violence and damaged properties during the protests held for a separate Telangana, Manda Krishna Madiga said that the MRPS protests so far have never turned violent as they attempted to hold a peaceful protest in Hyderabad but instead were arrested.
He even recalled how the MRPS activists lent support to KCR during his 10-day protest fast in 2013 during the statehood movement comparing with the situation at present where he was sent to jail for 10 days.
