Creating wonders in Telugu

Can you finish a story within a sentence in any language? You may think that it is impossible right? But Nalgonda-based Government school headmaster Srinu Kumar Karnati made it possible by writing a short story within a sentence.

He wrote a short story ‘Arbhakuni Andhalam’ in 200 words within a single sentence and entered Telugu Book of Records for creating the longest sentence in the Telugu language in a single sentence.Speaking with The Hans India, Srinu Kumar Karnati shared his passion towards Telugu language.

“I was interested in Telugu language since my childhood. I started writing different kind of stories in Telugu language since 1997. I love the environment and to spread the importance of it I started a group titled ‘Prakruti and Vikruti’. At present, I am working as a headmaster for a government school in Nidamanur village of Nalgonda district. In our school, we organise various activities to build Telugu language skills in students,” said Srinu Kumar Karnati.

Speaking about his Telugu Book of Record for longest sentence ‘Arbhakuni Andhalam’, he said “I searched what the longest sentence in Telugu was, but I couldn’t find many. In fact, most of them are in English only.

At that time, I decided to do a short story in a single sentence in Telugu. I wrote a story ‘Arbhakuni Andhalam’ with 136 words and later extended it to more than 200 words. No one in the history of Telugu language has done this before. For this work, I was honored with Telugu Book of Records,”

Every word of Arbhakuni Andhalam story begins with the first letter of the Telugu alphabet ‘Aa’. He presented the feet at the recently concluded World Telugu Conference.
Srinu Kumar also tried to list his record in the Guinness World Records. “I applied the same for Guinness World Records to register, but they said that there were no entries for this type of attempts in regional languages,” he added.

In his school, Srinu Kumar organises several activities to enhance Telugu language skills in students. “Today, everyone is talking about the importance of Telugu language, but no one is taking any necessary actions to revive it. Telugu background students who join English medium schools end up unable to speak both Telugu and English.

I am also participating in a ‘Kavi Sammelan’ event on February 21 organised by Basha Parirakshana Samiti in Hyderabad,” he concluded
