A start-up incubator was launched by the Telangana government on Thursday on the occasion of International Women’s Day to exclusively promote entrepreneurship among women.

The facility, named We-Hub, is the country’s first state-led incubator exclusively for women entrepreneurs.

Speaking on the occasion, IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao said that We-Hub is a platform open to all kinds of innovations including a tech start-up, a start-up in social innovation or an idea completely different.

According to a government release, We-Hub is an entrepreneurial platform for aspiring women from rural and urban backgrounds helping them achieve being independent and overcome the societal barriers.

At the launch event, six MoUs were signed which would help promote women entrepreneurship through workshops, social innovation programs and co-incubation programs.
