Warangal: It’s a colourful fiesta at Kareemabad in the city with women in large numbers making a beeline to offer bonalu to Beeranna Swamy on the occasion of Toli Ekadasi on Monday.
The festival is regarded as one of the important events of the Golla-Kuruma community. It’s also regarded as the second largest Bonalu festival in Telangana after the Mahankali Bonalu in Hyderabad.
The Golla Kurumas, who believe Beeranna as the avatar of Lord Siva, celebrate the festival every year on a grand note. Although Beeranna bonalu is the main festival of the shepherd communities, other communities also participate in large numbers.
