Hyderabad: The High Court at Hyderabad directed the Hyderabad police to file detailed counter affidavit in the case filed by cine critic Kathi Mahesh challenging the order issued by the Hyderabad police on July 8 externing him from Hyderabad.
Justice A Rajashekar Reddy gave this direction on Wednesday while hearing the writ petition moved by Kathi Mahesh. The counsel for the petitioner submitted to the court that fundamental rights of the petitioner have been affected by the order of Hyderabad police.
He contended that the police acted beyond their powers in externing the petitioner without any grounds whatsoever. The judge issued notices to respondents including police commissioner, Hyderabad, West Zone DCP, Task Force DCP and Banjara Hills SHO and directed them to file counter affidavit within three weeks.
