Congress to stage dharna today

Khammam: Congress district unit leader V V Appa Rao here on Wednesday appealed to the party leaders and activists to participate in dharna, to be held on Thursday under the leadership of former Central Minister and Senior leader of the Congress party Renuka Chowdhary.
Speaking to the media at Sanjeeva Reddy Bhavan here, Appa Rao said dharna would be staged in front of the District Collectorate in in Bhadradri Kothagudem district and on July on Friday in Khammam districts, demanding that the government address the issues of podu cultivation, allotment of housing sites and double bedroom houses, besides sanctioning of loans to Self-Help groups on 25 paise interest.
The dharna, he said, would also highlight the failure on the part of the government in fulfilling the promise of providing 12 per cent reservations for Muslims and tribals.
Congress Party District leaders Darishala Bhadraiah, Manukonda Radha Kishore, Carporator B G Tilak, Chota Baba, Deepak Chowdhary, Banothu Saidulu Naik, Katram Narasimha Rao and Yakub Pasha were present at the programme.
