Mancherial: The district will give a boost to development of agriculture, fisheries and micro, small and medium industries, said Collector RV Karnan here on Thursday.
Speaking after attending a review meeting on the 2018-19 district credit, along with Bellampalli Sub-Collector Rahul Raj, Lead Bank Officer Haveli Raju and bank officials, he announced the allocations to various sectors.
The Collector announced that last year’s credit targets were met. They include Rs 884.97 crore for agriculture of the target of Rs 1,227.19 crore (72.11 per cent). Of the long-term loan target of Rs 396.14 crore, Rs 45.46 crore has been released. He said in the case of micro, small and medium industries of the target of Rs 204.75 crore, Rs 109.60 crore (53.33 per cent) has been achieved.
Of the total district credit target of Rs 2,325.86 crore, an amount of Rs 2,378.37 crore (102.26 per cent) was made available. Of the prime credit target of Rs 246.23 crore, Rs 72.99 crore (31 per cent) was achieved. In other credits target of Rs 261.53 crore, Rs 1,265.34 crore (483.81 per cent) was made available. The amounts include Rs 48.04 crore for housing, covering 696 beneficiaries, Rs 4.68 crore (218 beneficiaries) for education.
Karnan stated that of the target of Rs 193.74 crore for rural self-employment societies, Rs 178.28 crore was released. In the case of urban societies of the target of Rs 17.44 crore, an amount of Rs 23.84 crore was made available. As many as 49,523 farmers enrolled under the Pradhan Mantri Phasal Bheema Yojana. Under the Rythu Bandhu Scheme 1.3 lakh farmers were allotted Rs 115 crore through banks.
The Collector said officials should convene joint meetings of mandal development officers and officials of banks for finalising the loan targets and prepare schemes by the welfare departments for the benefit SCs, STs, BCs. He wanted bank officials to treat tenant farmers as a unit for handing over crop loans.
Karnan handed over commendation letters and mementoes to 25 bank managers, six agriculture department officials for efficient implementation of the Rythu Bandhu Scheme.
Among those present were RBI LDO Phaniraj, NABARD BDM Purohith, lead bank DGM Nancharayya (Andhra Bank), SBI RM Chandrasekhar, TGB RM Shyamsundar, DCCB RM Suryaprakash, District Agriculture Officers Veeranna, R Setti, Utnoor Director Mangilal, besides managers/officials of all banks.
