Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will leave for New Delhi on Friday. He will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other Union ministers to get the approval from the Union government for new zonal system. The Chief Minister will himself monitor the entire process of obtaining clearance and approval for the zonal system during his visit to the national capital. He has also decided to stay in New Delhi, if required, for two or three days and meet Prime Minister, if necessary, to underscore the necessity for zonal system.

The Telangana government has recently announced the creation of seven zones and two multi zones in place of the two zones that existed in the Telangana region in the undivided Andhra Pradesh. Due to the delay in the approval of a new zonal system by the Centre, the government postponed fresh recruitments of the zonal cadre posts.

The Chief Minister has also decided that there shall be new zonal system in the state, so that the fruits of achieving the statehood reach people. That is the reason why the Chief Minister has decided to obtain an early clearance and approval for the new zonal System and to take up fresh recruitments. According to sources, the state government has already requested the Centre to agree to the new zonal system.

The Union Ministries of Law and Home Affairs positively responded to the proposal. The file concerned has been forwarded to the Prime Minister’s Office. Since the entire matter pertaining to clearance of zonal system is at a crucial stage, the Chief Minister has decided to go to Delhi to personally monitor the whole process, sources said.
