Hyderabad: HMDA commissioner B Janardhan Reddy has appealed to citizens not to travel by the Outer Ring Road (ORR) on September 2 as the expressway would be filled with vehicles attending TRS' Pragati Nivedana Sabha at Kongara Kolan. He tried to alert passengers going towards Shamshabad by advising them to take alternative routes to reach the airport. In a statement issued on Friday, Reddy said journey on ORR would take more time than on regular days due to heavy vehicular flow on Sunday.
The HMDA chief said toll collection would be stopped on that day for smooth flow of several vehicles heading to or coming from the meeting venue. TRS leader Palla Rajeshwar Reddy had written a letter to the metropolitan body seeking toll exemption for vehicles plying on ORR on Sunday. Stating that the HMDA had accepted their request, its chief said TRS has to pay one-day collection charges.
