Tourists from different parts of state thronged Nagarjuna Sagar to see the release of water from crust gates of the project but their happiness ended within three and half hours, as the lifted two gates were closed in the name of reduced inflow from Srissailam dam to 1,04,000 cusecs from 1,45,000 cusecs.

Tourists and local people who witnessed the scene of release of water expressed their pleasure with claps and shouting’s.
As the clock ticked 1.30 pm, all of sudden officials concerned took a decision and closed the lifted two gates in the name of receding flood flow from Srisailam dam.
