Hyderabad: Konda Surekha, MLA in the dissolved Assembly, and MLC Konda Murali are returning to Congress fold. Konda couple will be holding press meet in Hyderabad on Saturday to share views on switching loyalties from TRS to Congress.
It may be mentioned here that Konda Surekha’s name was kept pending in the first list of 105 candidates announced by TRS party that comprised a majority of sitting MLAs.
Konda Surekha represented Warangal (East) constituency in the first Telangana Assembly. She has been strongly pitching for Assembly ticket to her daughter Sushmita Patel. However, TRS could not accommodate her request and also did not include Surekha’s name in the first list.
There were reports that Konda couple was in touch with Congress leadership to shift to the national party in case TRS did not honour their requests. Sources stated that Congress accepted her demands to offer two tickets-for Konda Surekha and also her daughter. It is most likely that Surekha will contest from Warangal (East) and Sushmita Patel from Parkal constituency.
