Asifabad: Komaram Bheem District Collector Rajeev Gandhi Hanmanthu held a meeting at the District Collectorate conference hall on Friday with representatives of political parties and district officials to discuss forthcoming elections and the draft electoral list.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that there are 532 polling booths in the districts. Proposals for changes and objections regarding electoral list shall be received from September 10 to 25, he said.

Special camps or village level meetings will be held on September 15 and 16 to resolve objections. The last date for addressing issues regarding electoral list would be October 4 and the final electoral list will be printed on October 7, he said.

The final electoral rolls will be released on October 8. Objections can be reported to Tahsildars or Collector, he said. On this context, some political leaders raised issue of some voters not getting voting right despite applying two to three times in the past. The Collector promised that such errors would not be repeated in the revised list.

Dr P Rambabu, who was RDO of Mahbubnagar, assumed charge on Friday as Joint Collector of the district. RDO Ramesh Babu, Deputy Tahsildar Jithender, tahasildars and representatives of political parties participated in the meeting.
