Ameerpet: In the late hours around 11:50 pm on Wednesday, corporator Padmavathi DP Reddy reached Batkammakunta to inspect manhole desilting works. After receiving many complaints from the residents here about contaminated drinking water being supplied, the desilting works were taken up on emergency basis.
The Water Board workers traced the fault at manhole located at junction No 6, which had collapsed internally into the storm water drain. Padmavathi instructed the line men and supervisor to desilt the manhole and rebuild the silt chamber. She asked the workers to resolve the problem immediately.
