Khammam: The BC Sangham here on Sunday appealed to the people to defeat the parties which are not giving value to the Backward Classes in the elections.

A roundtable conference of various BC union leaders was held under the leadership of Mekala Suguna Rao at a private function hall in Khammam. Speaking on the occasion, the speakers alleged that for several years, all the political parties have been neglecting the BCs while allocating ticket for the Assembly elections.

The political parties are treating the people of BC community only as their vote bank but are not allotting them the tickets and supporting them to develop politically, he alleged.

Out of 52 per cent of BC population, not even a single person from the BC community was elected to the Assembly from the district in about 13 Assembly elections that are held in the State till date. The political parties are showing discrimination against people BC community, he alleged.

The BC Commission in its report mentioned that political reservations must allotted to people belonging to BC community as per the ratio of BC population but for 50 years no political party is following it, they pointed out.

The people of BC Community must support only the parties which give value to the BC people and teach fitting lesson to those parties who neglect them, they appealed.

The representatives of the BC Sangham P Venkataramana, P Chandraiah, K Nagabhushanam, Y Srikanth, Venkateshwarlu, P Rama Rao, P Ramurthy, A Gandhi, Asaad, P Satish, K Nehru Goud, Dr. Papa Rao, Dr. Krishna Rao, L Krishna Rao, S Sampath, g Srinivas, P Vijaya Kumar, P Venkataramana, Vinay Kumar, B Komraiah and Suresh were present on the occasion.
