Hyderabad: Mudiraj Seva Sangham (MSS) organised ‘Alai Balai’ programme at AV College, Domalguda on Sunday. Dr P Yadagiri Mudiraj, president of MSS, recalling the quote of Dr Ambedkar, “The communities which are not in power will gradually perish,” said that it holds true in case of Mudiraj community. Several speakers expressed anguish at injustice being done to Mudiraj people and lamented exclusion of community from the SC category. Many speakers opined that the community did not get the fruits of reservation although it was categorised under BCs.
As a result, only 0.5 per cent of the community got education and employment although it constitutes 14 per cent of the State population, they lamented. They demanded various political parties to allocate party tickets to their community in forthcoming assembly elections. The party which gives more tickets to their community should get the support of community, they said. Among those participated in the programme included chief secretary of the association Sunil Kumar Mudiraj, president P Yadagiri Mudiraj, convener P Narayana Mudiraj and others.
