DGP Mahender Reddy refutes charges of phone tapping
In a response to allegations made by opposition leaders about their phones being tapped, Telangana DGP Mahender Reddy submitted a detailed report to the state Chief Election Officer Rajath Kumar
Hyderabad: In a response to allegations made by opposition leaders about their phones being tapped, Telangana DGP Mahender Reddy submitted a detailed report to the state Chief Election Officer Rajath Kumar. Speaking on the occasion, DGP rejected allegations made by the opposition leaders and said that phones will only be tapped to protect the interests of national security and defense upon taking permission from union home ministry.
Phone tapping is done based on the directives of central home ministry, he said and clarified that police are conducting vehicle inspections and implementing the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) without any prejudice. He made it clear that police has been working based on the recommendations and instructions given by the Election commission.
