Bharatiya Janata Party BJP leader Swami Paripoornananda expressed doubts that the Telangana State police might be tapping the phones of him and other party leaders

Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Swami Paripoornananda expressed doubts that the Telangana State police might be tapping the phones of him and other party leaders.

Addressing media here on Saturday, he said the kind of restrictions imposed on him and others representing Hindu organisations to take part in the funeral of a priest died in Warangal raises several doubts in the minds of majority Hindus in the State.

Terming the elaborate security arrangements being made for him and those attending a funeral of the priest in Warangal by the police was uncalled for and a waste of public money. And, questioned “do they do similar security arrangements if the deceased belongs to some other religion and elders of those religions were attending the funeral of a deceased,” he questioned?

Besides, the way police were informing him the movements of his locations makes him and others to doubt, whether they were placed under surveillance by tapping their mobile phones, he added. Adding, “Today someone comes attacked a priest in a temple for airing Suprabhatam. And, if this is allowed to continue then there is no guarantee that tomorrow someone would attack those performing Puja in their own homes.”

“This kind of treatment meted out to the Hindus in Telangana and across the country is not acceptable. If this continues, as if people of the majority religion have no space in their own country, then, they will have to fight for a law for their safety and security.”

He charged the TRS-AIMIM Kutami and Congress-led Mahakutami are responsible for such happenings and creation of a vitiated atmosphere. The TRC chief and caretaker Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao claims the history of Nizam is the history of Telangana and decided not to celebrate the liberation day of the State.

Also, at the cost of OBC reservations, he wants to provide 12 per cent reservation for Muslims. On the other, the TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy promises to bring a Jesus rule in the State. Paripoornananda questioned does the TPCC meant that “all of us will have to convert from our religion under the Jesus rules he wanted to bring?”

He also found fault with the police and others washing away their hands citing that the Maulana attacked the priest was mentally unsound. This poses a scary situation for the majority of people in the State, he said.

Instead of asking what BJP and RSS did for Hindus, he asked people of majority religion to think and cast their votes following their consciences and elect the right government with right people, who work for all, without playing appeasement politics.

He said that BJP has no caste, religion, language, gender or region and working with single point agenda to ensure fruits of development reach everyone.

It was for this reason he had chosen it as a platform to fight for Dharma, he said. Instead of weeping for five years, he asked people to use their vote wisely to bring the BJP to power in the State.
