Mahbubnagar: Stating that the BCs form 56 per cent of the population of the State, still they are not being given proper representation in politics, opined Telangana State BC Welfare Association general secretary Rachala Yughandar Goud while speaking to The Hans India on Friday.

Goud said that ever since India got independence, the BCs have been treated as slaves in politics by the upper caste leaders. Almost 90 per cent of political parties are in the hands of upper caste leaders and they are not allowing the BCs to emerge to the next higher level in their political careers. “Just 5 per cent of the upper caste leaders are managing and running almost all the political parties. Because of this, they are giving priority to their own community people in the allocation of MLA, MLC and MP tickets,”

Expressing his discontent over the recent Congress party’s attitude of allocating major chuck of seats to the upper cast leaders, he said, “When BC leaders are not given tickets, why should BCs vote for those from upper caste leaders who do not give priority to the BC leaders in politics.

The BCs who form a major per cent of population in Telangana are being given a raw deal in the seat allocation. Now the time has come, and all BC communities must stand to fight this injustice, until all political parties’ give adequate representation to the BC community in politics,” said Yughandar against recent decision of AICC President Rahul Gandhi’s decision to give priority to Reddy community over BCs.

He gave a call to all the BC leaders from all political parties to give a thought to the injustice being meted out to their community in politics and urged them to come on one platform and question the attitude of the political parties. “Irrespective of political parties, all BC leaders must unite and question the injustice meted to them. Unless we question, no one is going to come forward to heed our problems.

Therefore I request all the BC leaders from all parties to come and participate in the BC Samarabheri, and voice their discontent against their parties,” Yughandar called all BC leaders to untie.

As part of this initiative the Telangana BC Welfare Association leaders are organizing a grand meeting, ‘BC Samara Bheri’ on November 14 in Devarkadra mandal of Mahbubnagar district.

Balraj Goud, BC Yuvajana Sangam president, KS Nagaraju Mudiraj, Madanapuram mandal president, Anjanna Yadav, Goutam Shankar, Paramesh Goud, Ashik, Babanna, Shivanna Naidu and others participated in the programme.
