Mahbubnagar: After the withdrawal of nominations in Mahbubnagar district, the District Election Officer declared that a total of 62 candidates remain in fray.

As many as 100 contestants filed their nomination paper for all the five constituencies of Jadcherla, Mahbubnagar, Devarkadra, Makthal and Narayanpet in the district. As many as 18 persons withdrew their nomination papers, while the nominations of 20 others were rejected by the returning officers.

While giving the details, District Collector Ronald Rose told the reporters that that out of a total of 100 candidates, who filed their nominations, 62 remained in fray after final scrutiny and rejections by the Returning Officers.

“After withdrawals and rejections, 62 candidates are left in the fray for all the five existing constituencies in Mahbubnagar district. Among them, out of 15 nominations received from Narayanpet, four withdrew and one nomination was rejected and 10 are in fray. In Mahbubnagar, out of 25 nominations, four withdrew from contest, and seven nominations were rejected, leaving 14 persons in the election arena.

In Jadcherla out of 23 nominations, after withdrawal and rejections, 15 remained in the fray. In Devarkadra out of 22 nominations, 13 remained in the fray. In Makthal out of 15 nominations filed, the officials rejected three and two withdrew from contest and 10 candidates remained in the fray,” the Collector said
