Hyderabad: Even after orders were issued by the government for provision of regular salaries to contract employees of computer-cum-libraries run by TS Urdu Academy, there has been no sign of relief to them. The Computer-cum-Libraries Employees’ Association had submitted a representation to the present Secretary, Minority Welfare Department of State government, in October 2018. They had urged immediate release of their salaries along with arrears, as per an earlier order issued by former Secretary Omer Jaleel, which had been pending since November 2017.

Speaking to The Hans India, the representatives of association said that even after the order was issued by the Omer Jaleel in 2017, the Minority Welfare Department had not released pending arrears and no increment in salaries was effected till now. They said that scores of employees had been rendering services for more than a decade or two on meager salaries. “Considering our sincere demands to enhance the salaries, our previous Secretary to Minority Welfare Department Omer Jaleel issued a Memo No.4305/ESTT.Il/A1/2017 on November 3, 2017 towards enhancing the salaries on par with contract employees by applying the GO Ms No 14, Fin (HRM-1).

As per the GO, we shall be paid Rs 17,500 per month to faculty, Rs 15,000 per month to Librarians and Rs 12,000 per month to subordinates respectively. But we regret that still the GO has not been implemented,” rued an employee on the condition of anonymity. Owing to delay in implementation of this, the employees even approached the Minister of Finance, Eatala Rajender, in September. Even his instruction to the department is not yet implemented.
