Basheerabad: Members raised drinking water scarcity and bus service at Basheerabad Mandal Parishad general body meeting held here under the chairmanship of member Karuna on Wednesday. Ekmai member Surekha said that there is acute shortage of drinking water in their village. Kadgira member Nagendraiah also raised same problem in their village. Another member Naresh Chowhan lamented that bus service to Hyderabad from their village was cancelled long back. He alleged that officials were not responding their request to restore the service. He demanded the meeting to take necessary action on the issue.

Addressing the meeting, Tandur MLA-elect Pilot Rohit Reddy advised officials not to neglect public problems. He said that he will strive hard to sort out civic problems and appealed to them to bring the issues to his notice for a speedy solution. Rohit Reddy also advised the officials to present the agenda with detailed information. ZP chairperson Sunitha Reddy said that electoral defeat of former minister Patnam Mahender Reddy is unfortunate and the development of the constituency lagged behind for 20 years. The chairperson said that they spent Rs 40 crore for drinking water in the district. She appealed to the people to fix on-off system to avoid wastage of water. Market committee chairman Srinivas Reddy, MPDO Uma Devi and officials from various departments were present.
