GHMC urged to stop illegal structures
Several illegal buildings are being constructed in the quarters of Medium Income Group MIG, High Income Group HIG and Economically Weaker Sections EWS quarters in Baghlingampally of Ramnagar division Despite the constructions, no GHMC town planning authority officer had objected to the constructions in the area, raising suspicions of collusion among the local residents
Musheerabad: Several illegal buildings are being constructed in the quarters of Medium Income Group (MIG), High Income Group (HIG) and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) quarters in Baghlingampally of Ramnagar division. Despite the constructions, no GHMC town planning authority officer had objected to the constructions in the area, raising suspicions of collusion among the local residents.
Ramesh, a resident of Baghlingampally, alleged that he was once attacked when he questioned the illegal constructions. He demanded the authorities to stop illegal constructions at MIG quarters and Sanjay Nagar Basti. He alleged that a builder has colluded with a local ruling party politician and has been building multi-storey buildings in a small space of 40-50 yards.
He said that he would send a written complaint to the GHMC commissioner and town planning authorities if no action is taken against the offenders. When the reporter of The Hans India questioned GHMC Circle-15 ACP Sathyanarayana on the issue, he dismissed the allegations and said that legal actions were taken against those who violated building norms.
