Hyderabad: Rachakonda Commissionerate annual sports and games meet 2019 started with a grand note at Saroornagar indoor stadium on Wednesday. Rachakonda commissioner of police Mahesh Bhagawat started the games by hoisting the flag. Earlier, he received salute from police sports persons. Spectators were mesmerized by the police parade held on the occasion. CP Mahesh Bhagawath himself participated in a Kabaddi match in the inaugural match.
Speaking on the occasion, CP said that the sports would help police get relief from the daily stress and maintain their physical fitness. Sports enable good health as well as mental endurance, he said. Expressing his happiness on the increased participation of police in annual meet, he said that despite being busy in their duties and maintaining law and order, a large number of police have come forward to participate in the event.
He advised police to include physical exercise in their daily routine. Police from various zones of the Comissionerate are participating in the three-day meet in which competitions for various sports such as kabaddi, football, volleyball, shuttle badminton and other athletic games would be conducted. Prominent among those who were present on the occasion include joint CP Sudheer Babu, DCP Sampreeth Singh, Umamaheshwar Rao, Ramchandra Reddy, traffic DCP Divyacharan and DCP Nagaraju
