Gadwal: Witnessing the innovative Teaching Learning Methods Mela organised by Thimmajipally Government Upper Primary School (UPS) in Alampur mandal of Gadwal district, educational experts and teachers expressed happiness at the way in which the school was being moulded, and opined that it is high time that schools adopt innovative teaching and learning methods to enhance the learning ability of their students.
They also praised the initiatives of the Osmania University scholars who had come forward to take the challenging task of moulding the school into a most advanced model government school on par with private schools.
As part of the TLM mela, the students displayed unique and innovative teaching learning methods which attracted the visitors and guests who attended in large numbers on Friday.
Veeresh, Osmania University scholar from the village, with the help of teachers and villagers had taken the initiative to transform that school to a modern and advanced educational institution on par with private schools.
Speaking to Hans India Veeresh said, “TLM is a unique and innovative initiative started by our school, where in we have displayed the various teaching methods and learning skills to students using which we can improve the students learning abilities.”
The government school in Thimmajipally which was having classes up to just 5th in 2015 was on the verge of closure with just one teacher and 21 students. However, it has now turned out to be a vibrant learning centre with a total student strength of 130 students and with medium now being changed to English.
Narashimulu, Mandal Education Officer termed the initiative of the school to hold the TLM Mela as one of the first of its kind programmes ever held by any school in Alampur and congratulated the teachers and the students for organising such an event.
“TLM Mela is a unique and interesting initiative organised by the Thimmajipally school. This mela has exhibited various methods for improvement of talent skills, knowledge management, basic words balancing and increase of individual thoughts,” said the MEO.
Ram Mohan, member of teachers’ association (DTF) expressed his concern over the present teaching education system, particularly in government sector. He said not many government schools were organising such innovative programmes to enhance teaching skills for the teachers and students. He expressed happiness and thanked the Osmania University scholars for taking such a challenging task of converting the Thimmajipally school into a role model for others and hoped that many other government schools also follow the suit and work towards making the government education system a robust system on par with the private institutions.
More than 50 teachers from different schools and students from surrounding schools took part in the mela. Mandal Education Officers from the neighbouring mandals also visited the mela and congratulated the students and teachers on the occasion.
