Bhadradri district collects 1.73 cr tax

Speaking to The Hans India, she said eighty per cent of the target of Rs 2 crore was collected. There are 205 village panchayats in the district. Out of which 190 are in Panchayats Extended to Scheduled Areas (PESA) Act.
Kothagudem: District Panchayat Officer Asha Latha on Friday said that the district achieved a distinction by collecting Rs 1,73,62,233 by way of taxes till December 7.
Speaking to The Hans India, she said eighty per cent of the target of Rs 2 crore was collected. There are 205 village panchayats in the district. Out of which 190 are in Panchayats Extended to Scheduled Areas (PESA) Act.
These agencies have paid taxes equally with panchayats.She felt cashless transaction modes are to be expedited and wanted to see open defecation-free (ODF) villages at the earliest.
