Karimnagar: The State government has sanctioned Rs 25 crores to establish IT Tower in Karimnagar, informed District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed. He along with MLA Gangula Kamalakar and MLC Naradasu Lakshman Rao inspected the location at Ujwala Park to set up IT Tower on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that with the initiation taken by IT Minister K T Rama Rao, the government had sanctioned Rs 25 crores and suggested to send the proposals after allotting the suitable place.

Five acres in front of Ujwala Park at bypass road was identified. Out of this, four acres was suitable for constructing the tower.

The location is very near to the city and is surrounded by LMD, Deer Park, Mannair River, Ujwala Park, ITI and polytechnic colleges, the Collector informed.

MLA Gangula Kamalakar said the four acres identified near Ujwala Park for constructing IT Tower is suitable for establishing IT companies. The NRIs, who own IT companies in America, hailing from the district are interested to establish IT companies in Karimnagar. A few of them had established their companies in Bangalore also.

A meeting will be organised with the owners of the IT Companies by visiting America in next month requesting them to establish their companies in the district by explaining them the benefits and subsidies that would be provided on behalf of the government, the MLA added.

City Mayor Ravinder Singh, City Municipal Commissioner Shashank, District Revenue Divisional Officer Raja Goud, Tahsildar Srinivas and Corporators were present along with others.
