2 school girls attempt suicide
Two sixth class students of Government Girls High School attempted suicide by consuming lice killer in the school premises here on Thursday. The girls were identified as Tejaswini and Rakshita, residents of NTR Nagar in the town.
Mancherial: Two sixth class students of Government Girls High School attempted suicide by consuming lice killer in the school premises here on Thursday. The girls were identified as Tejaswini and Rakshita, residents of NTR Nagar in the town.
The school staff rushed them to the Government Hospital and the doctors declared that the girls were out of danger. Prior to taking the extreme step, Tejaswini reportedly confided in Rakshita about the sexual harassment from her uncle.
While Tejaswini took the extreme step because of the family feuds, Rakshita attempted suicide because her friend attempted. When Tejaswini’s family members were approached for clarification, they tried to brush it under the carpet.
The police started investigation and said that they will conduct medical tests on Tejaswini to ascertain sexual harassment. The number of suicide cases of school girls reached five in the past two months. Of the five, two died and three recovered.
