Bhupalpally: Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary has embarked on ‘Pragati Nidra’, in a bid to have a closer interaction with the villagers in the district and address their developmental needs.

He started the programme at Laxmareddypalli village of Mulug Ghanpur in the district on Wednesday. He arrived at the village during late evening hours. He interacted with the villagers and enquired about the developmental activities being carried out in their place.

Speaking to presspersons on the occasion, he said during separate Telangana Movement he had carried out ‘Palle Nidra’ to mobilise public support to the statehood cause and to create awareness among them. Now with ‘Pragati Nidra’, it was aimed to take the fruits of development at the doorstep of the villagers.

Madhusudhana Chary earlier on the day has attended a meeting to review on Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple Brahmotsavams Kodavatancha in the district. He said Bhupalpally district has got many magnificent temples with great architecture and history.

Measures were being taken to develop the temples and to make the district a destination for tourists. He asked the officials to improve facilities at Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple for the benefit of the devotees. The Speaker informed that the SCCL management has granted Rs 3 crores funds under CSR initiative to the temple development. Work tenders would soon be called. Similarly, the government had sanctioned Rs 10 crores for the development of the two historic temples in the district.

Efforts were on to construct a guest house with 10 rooms at Medaram, he added.The Speaker has on the day performed ‘Bhoomi Puja’ for the construction of 60 double bed room houses at Ponagandla village of Regonda mandal. He said, he would construct his own house only after completing construction of 1000 double bed room houses in Bhupalpally assembly constituency.
