Warangal: Brahmana Seva Samithi honorary president G Upendra Sharma lauded the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao’s initiative of setting up Telangana Brahmin Samkshema Parishad for the welfare of the community. He said the CM was in the forefront in the country in terms of launching several schemes for the Brahmin’s wellbeing. He also appreciated the efforts put up by the Parishad chairman K V Ramana Chary in formulating the schemes.

Issuing of health cards to Brahamins was a unique idea and it has been helping a lot in securing quality health services for the poor in the community. At a programme here, 59 poor Brahmins from Warangal Urban and Rural districts were distributed health cards, he said in a release by the samithi here on Monday.

Sharma said by paying an amount of Rs 1,000, individuals could obtain health card, which helps to avail health services worth Rs two lakh at select corporate hospitals in the State and the country. He appealed all the eligible persons to avail the scheme.

He informed that an individual, called B Vijay Kumar, was sanctioned Rs 10 lakh loan to take up business, under Vivekananda Overseas Education Scheme and a student, Ketiraju Haritha was sanctioned Rs 20 lakh for foreign education. P Venkata Ramana of Warangal was sanctioned Rs 5 lakh to purchase auto-trolley.

Several beneficiaries have submitted applications to the parishad seeking loans and they would be given loans soon. The parishad aims at achieving social betterment, economic and educational development and to improve means and standard of living, Upendra Sharma noted. The programme was presided over by samithi urban unit office bearer Valluri Pavan Kumar. The samithi general secretary GVS Srinivasa Chary, advisor G Jayaprasad Rao, leaders V Rajkumar, Purushotham, A Srinivasa Charyulu and others were present.

The samithi leaders asked the community members to make use of several schemes such as financial and other support for education and studies, skill development, assistance for marriages and other ceremonies and others.
