Asifabad: Ramagundam Commissioner of Police Vikram Jeet Duggal has linked development of a place to road facilities and called upon tribals not to give shelter to anti-social elements. He along with other police officials and his childhood friend and Bollywood actor Abhinav Shukla on Tuesday visited Gundala village in Tiryani mandal of Asifabad district.

He advised the tribals to educate their wards and see to it that they are well settled. He advocated unity among tribals for resolution of the problems. Vikram Jeet Duggal, who visited several areas as part of ‘Jana Mytri’, assured the Gundala residents of providing road connectivity to their village. He pursued Adilabad ITDA project officer and district collector by leading a delegation of tribals to these officials, and got the funds sanctioned for laying road from Utla to Gundala villages.

Stating that while the government and the police department are striving for development of people, the Maoists are creating anarchy and resisting growth and some vested interests coming in the way for development of Agency villages, the Commissioner advised the tribals to take decisions after giving much thought.

As the police department has been implementing educational, health and transport facilities in Agency villages, the villagers should reciprocate the gesture cooperating with the police department in maintaining the law and order.

Later, he had a community lunch along with the tribals. He distributed uniforms among the students, blankets and clothes among the tribals and volley-ball kits among the youth. Earlier, the tribals extended a traditional welcome to the Commissioner of Police and the Bollywood actor amidst beating of drums and dancing. The Commissioner also shook a leg with the tribals performing dances, including the Gussadi tribal dance.
