Warangal: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Secretary P Annie Rose Christian said women as the house makers and working in government and private sector have an important role to play in the success of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

Speaking at an awareness campaign on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Swachh Survekshan held at Bhattupally government school on Friday she called upon the women to actively engage themselves in reaching the goals of the programmes.

Annie wanted the women to develop the habit of questioning the wrong to bring a positive and constructive change in the society. Issues and problems related to the society and related to women must be taken to the notice of the concerned officials to get them addressed, she said.

Explaining the services being offered by the DLSA, its Secretary said the authority will always be ready to extend assistance on legal issues or any other issues. She wanted the public to make use of the DLSA services extensively.

The GWMC Municipal Health Officer B Raji Reddy hoped that Warangal city would score better Swachh Survekshan ranking this time. Efforts were on to address garbage collection problems in the villages merged with the corporation, he added

B Raji Reddy said soon the garbage collection problem will be sorted out in the village. GWMC will take care of the sanitation issue without any delays, he added. Directorate of Field Publicity Officer of Warangal and Karimnagar Ardha Srinivas explaining the theme and objectives of the programme said the awareness campaign was organised in coordination with Nehru Yuva Kendra, Song and Drama Division and Doordarshan.

Local Corporator Thotla Raju expressed happiness for organising the programme in the village and wanted the villagers to maintain cleanliness of their surroundings. Prizes were distributed to the Self-Help Group members in the village who played active role in the Swachh Bharat mission activities. DFP unit distributed publicity material on the occasion.
