Warangal: Following an assurance by IT and Municipal Administration Minister K Taraka Rama Rao on March 5 on increasing the wages of public health (Sanitation) workers working under GWMC, a GO was issued enhancing the wages.

Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation Mayor N Narender informed that GO MS No: 14 has been issued by the government, enhancing the wages of contracting and outsourcing workers in the State.

Following the GO, the public health workers working under the corporation would get enhanced wages from April 1 and the workers would get enhanced wages in May month. The GO would benefit nearly 2,302 sanitary jawans and workers working under the GWMC, he said.

He further informed that the GWMC council has also passed a resolution in the past seeking to increase the wages of the public health workers. ‘The GO is a gift to the workers on World Labour Day falls on May 1,’ he said.
