Warangal: The ruling parties in Telugu states, TRS and TDP were worried over results of Assembly elections in Karnataka State, said BJP leaders here on Tuesday. The Chief Ministers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, K Chandrashekar Rao and N Chandrababu Naidu, were much troubled over the performance of Bharatiya Janata Party, which emerged as the single largest party, the saffron party leaders noted.

Jubilant celebrations erupted following the announcement of results. The party leaders and workers came into streets distributing sweets and bursting crackers and dancing to drum beats. The party Warangal Urban district president Rao Padma and party senior leader M Dharma Rao joined the revelry.

Kannadigas have rejected the call given by Telugu CMs to defeat BJP in Assembly polls. It indicates how people across the country were patronising BJP, the policies, welfare measures and good governance offered by the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre, they said.

The voters in Karnataka have endorsed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Sab ka saath sab ka vikas’ slogan for the development of that State. The election results have proved many poll surveys wrong, pointed out Padma.

Later at a press conference, Dharma Rao noted that TDP and TRS being regional and sub-regional parties have made a futile effort to defeat BJP in Karnataka polls and were felt dejected at the failure of their efforts.

The election results have clearly shown that the people were vexed up with the rule of parties run by a family. In next elections, both TDP and TRS run by single families would face the same result what Congress faced now.

Congress being a national party was reduced to the stature of a regional party as its hold now confined to just three states in the country. PM Modi was the most accessible to people in the country in post-Independence era, Dharma Rao stated.

BJP senior leader T Rajeshwar Rao taking strong exception to Congress’ readiness to support JD(S) to form government, said it shows bankrupt state of that party and the move was suicidal. It also proves Congress’ intention to create political instability in the State.

He wanted both the JD(S) and Congress to respect public mandate. Ex-MLAs Mandadi Satyanarayana, and Vannala Sriramulu and others were present.
